Abstract

Every language expresses the distinct social mores, cultural values, and worldviews of its speakers. Because English slogans are frequently adapted for Western cultural contexts, they could not have the same emotional resonance or meaning when translated directly into Uzbek. For instance, idioms, metaphors, or humor that are employed in English slogans may not have equivalents in Uzbek, which could cause the message to be misunderstood or lose its impact. The practical difficulties of translating advertising slogans from English to Uzbek are examined in this thesis.
