This article examines the use of synonymy and stylistic variation in the translation of James H. Chase's works, comparing the original English texts with their Uzbek translations. The research focuses on the linguistic strategies employed by translators to preserve the meaning, tone, and style of the source text while adapting it to the target language's cultural and linguistic nuances. By analyzing specific examples from Chase's novels, the study highlights the challenges and creative decisions involved in translating literary works into Uzbek. The role of synonymy as a tool for maintaining stylistic consistency and enriching the translation is emphasized. Additionally, the article explores how stylistic variation contributes to the depth and expressiveness of the translation, providing insights into the broader implications for literary translation in the context of English-Uzbek language pairings.
